Synching Problem with New iMac (error -39)

I purchased a new iMac yesterday and am having a problem synching my iPhone with it.

The problem is that whenever I attempt a sync I get the following error when it begins to sync the photo's:

"The iPhone "user name" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-39)."


The iPhone is not jailbroken or hacked in anyway and is using the latest version of the released firmware. It also syncs correctly with my Macbook.

Has anyone encountered this problem before and if so what is the solution?
