Synching with IPhone

Can anyone help me with a synching problem. I delete unwanted apps, videos and music from my itunes library and then plug in my iphone 4 for synching. It then proceeds to download from my iphone to my itunes libarary everything I have deleted so I cant seem to get rid of anything.

In particular I have episodes of Top Gear that I delete from my itunes but as soon as I ask it to sync with my phone it copies it all back.

I cant seem to delete it direct from my phone so I am unsure of what to try next. I have asked it not to sync tv shows but that does nto get rid of it off the phone.

Have you tried deleteing them on your iPhone by swiping your finger to the right over any video or song? Depends what version of iOS you have as well.

Thanks I think that worked. I guess I need to read the instruction manual a little more thoroughly!
