I have an 4TB external hard drive that I keep all my photos on right now and I want to back it up to a 2nd separate external hard drive. Is there anyway to do this?

If you want to simply copy the contents of one drive to the other, use either CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper.

Both will produce EXACT copies of the source drive.
If you mount the backup on the desktop, it will look exactly the same as the source.

The size differential between the two drives won't make any difference.

Both of these utilities are FREE to download and use for 30 days.
The best way to understand what I'm talking about is to try one (or both) of them.
You'll immediately see why they're "the right tools for the job"...

Actually, what I am trying to do is keep a backup of my photos external drive. What I discovered it that Time Machine actually keeps a copy in every snapshot, I didn't realize that it would backup external drives...so that's pretty much solves my problem. I can always periodically make a copy of the drive every so often besides so even if I had a malfunction, it would not be catastrophic....

The entire Photos drive?
Backed up to ANOTHER drive?

This is EXACTLY the job that either CCC or SD are perfect for.
I'm gonna say it one more time:
Try them, and you will IMMEDIATELY understand why they're the best tools for the task-at-hand.
