Hello MacRumors forum members!
I haven't tested this yet, as I'm waiting for my paycheck, but I've had this trouble myself ever since I got a MacBook Pro a few months ago, and I believe that many people have this problem.
This website offers software for Mac & PC, that can synchronize iTunes libraries over a network. It also synchronizes Metadata (Play counts, ratings, etc.) Now I'm not sure if the play counts and stuff sync automatically or if you have to press "Sync" yourself every time you want to sync, but I think (and hope) that it's automatically.
This isn't that expensive, and it seems that it's working from what I've heard, so I just thought I'd like to share it with you guys. I'm not the developer behind this.
PS. Here's a YouTube video showing and explaining the software: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63du3NzoCLk
