Syncing a macbook pro and iMac

I have an iMac and I am currently about to buy a new macbook pro to take to and from work. I dont want to have some files here and some files there. Is there a way to sync the macbook pro to my imac when I get home from work, and vice versa. Thanks

Check out .Mac and ChronoSync. The first is not exactly what you are looking for but helps when working between multiple computers.

I use "File Synchronization" a shareware program that allows you to sink folders and single files. It has many options including the ability to sync automatically and scheduled synchronization.

that I have used with great results.

The only one I have used is ChronoSync. It worked great and had lots of settings. It got a little annoying if it couldn't find the computer on the network. Other than that, it is a great app
