Syncing an 12 inch PB and a iMac G3 without .Mac

Hey y'all,

Any ideas on syncing a 12 inch PB with a iMac G3/400 Indigo?

These are someof things I would like to do with the syncing.

-Being able to link up either via firewire, ethernet, airport or usb1.1 (last resort)
-Syncing Remotely would be a plus
-No .Mac
-Free would be great
