I had been using Safari on my MacBook Pro for a good while before I downloaded Firefox.

When I installed Firefox, it essentially asked (obviously not in this exact wording) if I wanted to carry over the same bookmarks I had set in Safari to use in Firefox. I did so.

I again solely used Safari for a couple months without even touching Firefox, and set some new bookmarks in the Safari bookmark bar while doing so. I opened up Firefox tonight and the bookmarks aren't the same as Safari's. Essentially, they are the same as when I originally downloaded Firefox and transported the bookmarks over to the program.

I want to re-sync the bookmarks but cannot figure out how. I browsed through Preferences a few times and couldn't find any help for this. Clicking the Firefox "Bookmarks" tab didn't lead me anywhere either.

Any help with this would be great.

Try the newly released Foxmarks for Safari. It works great to sync bookmarks between the two browers &/or multiple machines.
