Hi,
I'm trying to come up with a good solution to keep my contacts in sync. (Calendars as well, but contacts seem more complicated.)
Basically, I want to sync Address Book on my Mac to Google Contacts. I've done it with the sync preference in Address Book, but am frustrated by the fact that Google Contacts does not have e.g. company name by default, and that it cannot use the same phone number labels than Address Book does.
I've searched here and the internet- is there really no way to have an 'it just works' solution? Calendars as well. Currently, I'm subscribing to Google Calendars on iCal but am frustrated that I cannot sync events that have an alarm.
I wouldn't mind subscribing to MobileMe (currently, I am on a trial membership), but I don't want to use MobileMe's address book and calendar primarily, because they load so slow, and I'm on gmail anyways.
I saw a couple of subscription-based programs like Spanning Sync - not sure though, since it doesn't push calendar events and/or contacts (if I understand correctly).
Eventually, I'll want to have a three-way sync between Google Contacts and Address Book, my MacBook Pro, and my iPhone. Is it really that hard?
Peter
