Hi,
I run a small music business and I currently have a database of approx 2800 addresses with special fields ie. ss#, musical instrument, union # etc. My wife and I both use this information for both payroll (Quickbooks) and as an address book (Mac Address Book) that also syncs our iPhones. Currently all of this info is in Bento on my MacBook Pro. Bento seems to work fine with the MAC address book as long as we do NOT upload to mobile me. We also use Quickbooks to do payroll. Since all of our contacts have been recently edited, combined and updated I would like to get everything in sync. I assume that Quickbooks shares info via the Mac address book and acts very similar to Bento in that information that is unique to Quickbooks is kept within quickbooks and fields that are matched with the address book can be in sync.
The question is: What do you recommend we do to keep all of this info in sync between my wifes MacBook and my MacBook pro?
1-Should we consider having all of this info stored on a desktop computer (server)? Then our lap tops can be synced when we are at home via Bento on our own wireless LAN network, which then would update our Mac address books, correct?
2-Is there another way to store/sync our main info via Bento with our address books so that we both share the same info? We both use Quickbooks as well.
3-I only wish that the address book feature in the Mac was similar to Bento so we could upload to mobile me and sync that way.
4-Maybe there is a way to share via internet or server technology but I am just learning a bit about networking.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks
