I would like to "insert" google contacts to iphone but LOCALLY. I don't mean the google sync feature but i want to have my contacts stored locally on the iphone. What options do I have?

Let me clarify..
Originally i used to have contacts stored locally that I edited on the phone itself. I enjoyed the possiblity of being able to use the custom fields for telephone numbers/emails. Now using the google sync options i don't have that option. Sadly i decided to manage my contacts on my google account and i painstakingly edited everything there. When i synced my contacts from google to iphone i deleted the local contacts. So to avoid editing and writing all the contacts to my iphone locally i'd like to copy them from google. Something wich includes outlook syncing? Help please.

Thanks in advanced

Export your contacts from gmail.

Import them into Outlook.

Sync contacts with Outlook by setting up Outlook contact syncing in iTunes.
