Syncing deleted messages between devices?

i use messages on my iPhone, Mac, and iPads. I'm currently trying to free space on my iPhone by deleting messages and attachments. However, these same messages remain on my other devices and over time i can imagine it will be difficult to remember which photos I may have already downloaded on my phone and which I did not before deleting messages on my other devices. Is there an easier way of doing this?
