I want to sync my calendar data between Entourage 2008 (my primary calendar app) and iCal so that I can, in turn, have my calendar data from Entourage transfered to iPhone and vice versa...
I've enabled the Entourage preference setting to sync Entourage data with iCal & .mac, but what I would like to know is whether or not its necessary (and/or recommended) to also enable the .Mac system preference pane to sync iCal data with .Mac (or is this completely different and only to be used if I want to sync my calendar data with other computers I've set up with the same .Mac account, or to backup my data online via .Mac)
If I don't care about syncing my calendar data with other computers, nor care about making online backups on my .Mac account of my iCal data, is enabling the .Mac system preference to sync iCal data with .Mac irrelevant - in regards to effectively syncing my Entourage calendar and my iCal calendar on my single local machine?

Secondary question:
To thrown another factor into the equation, I was also going to try syncing my iCal data with my Google Calendar via the application 'Spanning Sync', but upon visiting Spanning Sync's website, there is a notice on the site addressed to Leopard users (which my primary machine is currently using) discussing all sorts of syncing issues with Leopard..
I guess I wanted to know if anyone has been able to effectively sync their ical/Entourage/Gcal calendars on a machine running Leopard, and if so, if there are any suggestions that could be offered to assist me if I decide to proceed with setting up a similar sync routine??
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!
