Is it possible to sync Google Calender and iCal? I like iCal but have difficulty keeping up when I'm away from my Mac, and would optimally like to use it in conjunction with Google Calender.

I use Google Calendar and then have iCal 'subscribe' to it using the Google's iCal feed. You can't update from iCal, but it allows you to view your Google Calendar in iCal, alongside other calendars you may have in iCal.

Hope these instructions are close enough:-

In Google Calender - choose 'Settings'.
Select the 'Calendars' tab.
Select 'Share this Calendar'.
Select 'Calendar Details'
Bottom of page, Private Address, Copy the link location for 'ICAL'

In iCal - choose Calendar > Subscribe.
Past the Google ICAL link and subscribe.

:)

look for spanning sync. awesome software. automatically updates BOTH google cal and ical and you can update via either or. wicked app.

Is there another option other than Spanning Sync, or is this it? I'm just wondering if there is any other workaround that doesn't cost extra money.

I personally use Spanning Sync since it works very well and is very easy to use. There is a free alternative called GCALDaemon that I havn't tried but it looks like it takes some configuring to get it setup.

Wow, thanks for the help. I'm also subscribed to a business associates and a few friends calenders as well -- will these sync and show up in iCal as well?
