Syncing iMessage between MBP, iPhone and iPad

I have all three setup to use my phone number on each device. I get messages on each device. If I delete a message on one device shouldn't it delete it on the other two? Otherwise, it's not really syncing. Did I miss something?

I think they will all receive the messages, but each device has it's own history. That has been the case with my devices.

Also, if let's say, I switch my iPhone to another iPhone by taking out the SIM card and turn on iMessage. I'll have to deactivate my Mac and iPad and reactivate those two again to get the messages to sync again.

This just gives me the idea that iMessage is still a bit buggy.
