Syncing iPhone calendar with iCal on a Mac.

I want to basically be able to add an appointment on my phone while I'm out, then get home and sync my iPhone and have that same appointment show up in iCal on my iMac.

Any way I can make that happen? As it is now, when I add an appointment on my iMac and sync, it shows up on the iPhone, but not vice-versa.

I am having a similar problem -- nothing syncs going either way (iPhone->mac or mac->iPhone). I have a 3GS.

More precisely, anything within the past year does not sync...
