syncing iPhone from old computer to new computer

hello all,
not sure if this is the right location for this question, apologies if it needs to be moved somewhere else. Here is my dilemma/question:

I have my iPhone synced to computer A. I am setting a media entertainment computer (computer B) with all music, videos, movies, photos, apps etc on it and would like my iPhone to now sync to computer B. i have copied over my entire iTunes library and even copied over the mobile sync folder to computer B.

But when i plug in my iPhone to computer B it doesn't recognize any previous sync. I am afraid if i sync the phone with computer B, i will lose all apps and info on the phone. (i didn't mention no apps transferred over into new iTunes library)

any suggestions on what to do?

Apple has a support document on how to move an iTunes library from one computer to another. I'll go look in a bit and come back with a link but I wanted to put this out quickly in case you want to go search before I can.
