I tried researching this but wasn't able to find anything helpful.

Currently my iPhone is synced to the iTunes on my MBA, and I want it to be synced to a new Mac Mini I'm in the process of getting (so I don't have it yet). I considered just doing a time-machine backup/restore on the mac mini, but I don't want to (unless I have to). If I were to do the following, would I be able to sync to the mac mini without losing any information on my phone:

1. Update iTunes on mac mini to the latest software update.
2. Authorize the Mac Mini on my apple ID.
3. Back up iPhone on MBA
4. Copy entire iTunes folder on the MBA to an external hard drive.
5. Copy iPhone back-up file/folder/location onto external hard drive.
6. Replace iTunes folder on the Mac Mini with the one on the external hard drive.
7. Copy iPhone back-up files to the corresponding location on Mac Mini
8. Sync/restore iPhone on Mac Mini

Theoretically in my head it seems like it'll work, but was hoping if someone's had experience doing so they could confirm it or give me some tips. Thanks!

If it makes it any easier, I actually don't care too much about my songs/playlists as I can set them up again later. I just don't want to lose the other information on my phone (texts, voice mail, apps, photos, etc.)
