I don't think it has been posted here before so I will put this up here right now.
There is a program called DeTune, it allows people to browse the contents of iPhone's, iPod's, and iPad's, and it supports Leopard on PowerPC G4/G5.
The latest version is 1.0.9, the software was discontinued, I don't know how well it works because I don't have any iPhone/Pod/Pad devices.

Here is a MacUpdate link: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/35334/detune
Here is a download link: http://download2us.softpedia.com/dl...c0f6/400085624/mac/Utilities/detune-1.0.9.dmg

It's nice but it only supports older iOS versions:
- iPhone 6+, iPhone 4S with iOS 8: nope.
- iPod Classic 4th gen, iPad 1: yes.

Oh ok, so it's no better than iTunes :(
Although the macupdates page says this: "Version 1.0.9: Fixed problems connecting to iOS 8 devices".
Oh well... I guess we still cannot sync newer IOS devices :(
