I successfully synced my iTunes library between a Windows desktop and my Powerbook. However, the songs don't show up when you open iTunes on either one. When I go to the file and click to open it up, the song plays in iTunes and is recognized as an additional song. Why/how can all of them be recocognized?

Sounds like you synced all the files, but didn't sync the library databases.

On each machine, you should just be able to point at the library folder and hit "add to library" and let it add all the new files to the library. If need be, also do an "Advanced -> Consolidate Library" after the import.
