M5 iPad w/celluar running OS26.1 will not sync iMessage to my iPhone 17 Pro. Resulting in not getting sign in codes making it more difficult to log into sites with two factor authentication. Emails, photos and other apps are not affected. Apple support just indicates that things change and provide no solution. Previous iPad w/celluar had no problems. Really??

You haven’t given us much to go on, like your settings for example. But have you got SMS forwarding enabled for your iPad from your phone? Have you got iCloud messages enabled on your iPad and phone?
“Forwarding to other devices” turned out to be the bottleneck. iPads were off. Turning them on solved the problem.
Apple is the master of throwing in new toggles to setup and not letting anyone know including their own support people. Spent well over an hour chatting with one support person and later on a call with a Senior Advisor. Neither knew or suggested checking there.
