Syncing MP3s in ITunes to IPhone

I added MP3s from ITunes to my 13 Pro Max when I first got the phone. I’ve since added many new MP3s to ITunes but haven’t yet synced them to my phone. When I do the sync, will ITunes only add the new music or will it download all the songs I already had resulting in thousands of dupes?
 
I think it depends on your sync settings. I have Finder set to copy certain artists, certain playlists, a certain amount of GB of random music I haven't listened to lately.

Even if you do it and it duplicates everything you can get rid rid of duplicates real easy.
