iPhone 13 Pro Max Syncing new phone on mac

So I’ve always synced my new phone form my back up on the Mac. For some reason this time around none of my screens are set the way my old phone is and no apps synced.
Anyone have a fix?

Try again? Assuming your old backup is still there.
Also Where’s the last backup created from?

The “right way” to do it is backup the old device right before you want to restore a new device from that backup - one right after the other. That will ensure that the new device is an exact clone of the first one.

Last backup was last night with my iPhone 12pro max to my max.
When I synced my new iPhone 13 pro max photos, books, music all came through but no apps or my screen layout didn’t not come up through.
