syncing old phone to new mac?

so i have iphone 3g running jailbroken 3.0 synced to an old macbook, would i be able to sync the phone to a new macbook pro without losing all my contacts etc?

I have sort of the same problem. I use my macbook to sync my iphone, but now i want to start using my iMac to sync?

What is the easy way to do this? Can i just copy my iTunes folder to the iMac and iPhone backups or ?
