Syncing old photo to iCloud photo library on 8.0.2

iCloud Photo Library really confuses me. I have a backup folder with all my old photos on PC (with iCloud control panel installed).

Now there's no way to sync photo from Itunes as I am on iCloud photo library. And i tried copying all my old photo into the iCloud Photos folder but apparently it only syncs photo taken within 30 days (which are currently on my iPhone already).

Anyone know how to copy/sync old photos to the damn iCloud Photo Library?

On my MAC I created a folder with all the old stuff and in iTunes I had it sync that folder with my iPhone and iPad and keep it that way. I'll probably have to update that folder every month but for the moment it works.
I guess I should have expected this to happen but I think most were very unaware that our photos would seem to disappear.

The way I have dealt with this wad to create a shared folder in iCloud Photo and put all my old photos into this folder. That folder then appeared on my phone..job done!
