Syncing Photos from iPhone to Mac

Good Morning all, I'm hoping you can help with a question I have.

When syncing photos from an iPhone to a Mac will the datestamp of the photograph remain as they date the photo was taken or will this change to the date of the sync?

I have some photos which need the datestamp as that of when the photograph was taken but someone has told me this changes the date of the sync?!

Yeah, they should stay in embedded, especially if you use Photo Stream.

I understand that photos taken with the iPhone5 (camera roll) will appear on my mac via photo stream, but can I add any other photo from my iPhone5 albums to photo stream?
