Syncing Podcasts With Overcast

What I’ve learned so far is that you need podcasts on your phone set to download, not stream. Then make sure Auto-Sync to Watch is toggled on (I think it is by default). Then sit back and wait, and maybe place your watch on the charger to speed it up. It’s unreliable for me. It syncs some podcasts and not others.
You can manually do it faster by putting your watch on the charger. Then, hit the icon with horizontal lines and a + plus sign, then tap send to watch. But even then, it’ll go through the whole transfer process and still not show up on my watch. I’ve kinda gone back to Apple’s decent Podcast app on the watch that allows streaming of new episodes and allows me to access archived episodes of podcasts I subscribe to on the fly away from my phone. Outcast has the best purely Apple Watch search functionality away from iPhone to, and works reasonably well.
