Hi guys

a friend has just called me to say he is having problem syncing his iphone to itunes.

Basically his laptop was stolen afew days ago and he now has just tried to sync with his desktop which he has never used iTunes on there before so its blank and so when syncing it says its going to erase the data on his phone.

If there any way he can get all his music, movies, apps etc... off of his iPhone so he can put it on to his desktop so he can sync correctly?

Thanks

Matt

He can try dragging and dropping from the device to the iTunes library. But I'm fairly certain that the only things you can transfer from the phone are purchased items.

It's not like iPods. Copying from device to the PC will only transfer purchased content as a back-up.

He's out of luck and will have to start over.

He did have everything backed up, right?

just make sure everything is unchecked when you sync for the first time. and it won't remove anything. transfer purchases will put your stuff on the computer you bought from itunes. Music he put on the computer from other ways will be lost unless you get a third party software to put it back in itunes.

as long as everything is unchecked when you click sync it won't erase any of the iphone.
