Sorry, but I didn't think it would be this difficult to get the bluetooth to work properly. I have managed to pair the phone with my Powerbook, and I can send files from my PB to my K700i via bluetooth, so no issues there. However, I can't seem to with iCal or Address Book. With this much technology sitting in front of me, I absolutely refuse to manually key all 57 contacts into my new phone, so I've had this pretty little phone with nobody to call. Quite sad, really.

Anyway, I've tried reading through all the help at the Apple support sites. My problem is that iSync doesn't find my phone. Also, I don't know if my phone is "Discoverable" because I can't find this in the users manual or menus on the phone. However, there's something called "Visibility", and I think it's the same thing. I enabled "Visibility." And yes, I pushed the little Bluetooth icon at the top of the Address Book window. I also enabled all this in the Setup Wizard..

I can transfer files, but it can't add my phone as a new device to iSync because it can't find my phone? All I want is to be able to sync iCal and Address Book info via BT. If anyone can help me with this particular phone, or SE phones in general, that would be tops. :)

Do not push the button in the Address Book! This connects the Address Book for SMS usage, not for syncing and stops all other apps (like iSync) talking to the phone.

It is possible to iSynch the k700 to your Mac - I've done it! :)

You need to turn Bluetooth on on the k700. You should have a 'More' option for the top right hand button directly under the screen. If so, push that and you can choose 'Turn Bluetooth on'.

Occasionally, this useful menu is disabled by 'well-meaning' telcos!
If so, then you need to go into the main main menu -> Connectivity -> Bluetooth -> on

I don't think I paired them when I Synched. I just turned Bluetooth on on the PB and opened up iSynch. iCal and the phone contact names/numbers/emails went across just fine. The postal addresses and any pics that you have associated with contacts, don't.

hi. made a switch from the p800 to the k700i.
hope you guys can help me.

1. i've syncd my macs addressbook with my k700. i noticed that the thumbnails that i have on my mac dont get transferd to the k700. anyway around this?

2. anyway to view all day events without the time stamp? ex birthdays. i use ical.

thanks!

I did the same

Nope, there's no way to get iSync to pick up the p800 avatars and put them onto the k700. You might be able to send the actual image files from your Address Book (where presumably the p800 put them) to your phone and associate them manually with the people again but I don't think there's an automatic method. The other thing that doesn't transfer over, AFAIW, is the address field which is annoying.

Not sure on the second one - but they might know over at www.esato.com where they are experts on all things Sony Ericsson and there are quite a few Mac owners too.
