After having problems with my 3G this morning, I decided to restore it fully through itunes. The restore went fine, and I restored my latest backup. When it came to syncing, it was claiming that the handset had apps that itunes didn't and wanted to sync them. Fair enough, but it also transfered apps back to the phone that I'd just deleted.

Anyway, whilst syncing, itunes threw an error saying that it couldn't sync the iphone because it couldn't find the disk. I tried multiple times, and each time I would click sync, the iphone would show the syncing screen then immediately drop back to the home screen, though itunes would carry on syncing, then throw an error after a minute or so.

I decided to restore again, and this time eveything seemed to go well. The sync completed, and the iphone dropped back to the home screen, but itunes insisted it was only halfway through syncing my photos.

I'm now erasing all content via the settings tab on the iphone, and I'm going to roll my system back a few weeks, and reinstall itunes from scratch.

Was there an easier way......has anyone else experienced this?

Cheers
Neil
