The only advantage I can see to using Messages/iMessage is being able to sync texting among devices. I found an app, MightyText, that allows syncing text messages, including attachments, between my LG and iMac. It works wonderfully and allows the user to continue phone text conversations on a mac. The free version allows I believe 250 messages/month using the mac app. More than that, and you have to go Pro. I'd be happy to buy the app except they insist on a subscription method, at S4.99/month. That's $60/year for a nice convenience, but hardly a must-have.

Do any other Android/mac folks use different apps to do the same - at somewhat less than $60/year?
