Hi,

I have a massive amount of contacts from iphones on my mac. I have another large amount of contacts from gmail use since 2001 or whenever it started. I have never synced them. Of note, I no longer use an iphone (3GS got stolen) and now I am using Nexus S.

What tips do you have before I sync them?

Questions:

Do they make duplicates if the contacts do not match perfectly?

When you combine contacts on gmail, does that contact get combined on the mac?

Should I just import my contacts in to gmail instead of syncing them?

Thank you for your help, the guides on syncing to gmail have not been updated in about a year.
