Syncing two macs? ideas for an extra mac?

well, i have an extra imac (2.0 GHz aluminum) that my family was supposed to use, but nobody could get OSX, and when i installed vista on it they still complained..

any programs to sync it with my macbook pro? any ideas for the imac itself? how could i turn it into a media server? why would i need a media server?

i really need advice as to what to do with this thing, i will not sell it, it is simply a piece of apple art.

i created a thread on this a couple months ago, but it didnt get too far and didnt feel like searching for it

i thought about that but it really seems like a disgrace to the imac.. i just would like to see it come out of the closet.. haha..

For Syncing you need Mobile Me.

I can't tell you why you need a media server, where do you want to server media to?
You can use it as a media center if you wish.

or you could just use it.

i would use it, but i use my macbook pro more

it would be a perfect world if i could use my iMac at the desk, let the HD store all my media, use the iMac go sync my iPods, etc then be able to stream the music to the MBP, no matter where i am (home network or not)
