Hello Fellow Macheads,

I have a question?! I am in need of some dire help installing Synergy. Synergy is a mouse and keyboard sharing program that allows you to use one keyboard and mouse with multiple computers. After downloading Synergy from their website, I unzipped the file to install it, and then went to find the .dmg file or some type of installer file inside of the file that I downloaded but I could not find one, all I could find was some type of file that only once clicked takes me to the terminal in mac! So does anybody know how to install Synergy and get it working? Any help is greatly appreciated, the website to the site is below:

===============

To install on Mac OS X with the .zip distribution (first seen in 1.3.6) you must follow these steps:

1. Extract the zip file to any location (usually double click will do this)
2. Open Terminal, and cd to the extracted directory (e.g. /Users/my-name/Downloads/extracted-dir/)
3. Change to super user (use the su command)
4. Copy the binaries to /usr/bin using: cp synergy* /usr/bin

How to enable the root user in Mac OS X:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1528

Once the binaries have been copied to /usr/bin, you should follow the configuration guide:
http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/configuration.html

If you have any problems, see the [[Support]] page:

Not "/user/bin/" "/usr/bin" be careful!

"/usr" is a unix level folder which is hidden. "/Users" is a Mac OS X GUI level folder for personal files. They are different.
