Hey guys,

I'm trying to find the original System 7 retail box package, but I'm not having any luck. Checked the usual suspects (eBay, Amazon, a couple of other vintage Mac dedicated sites), but maybe I missed it.

Any idea where I can get a hold of one of these (on the right, of course):

I would still go for ebay. There must be one in sale from time to time. Be patient ;) (and set an alert)

Haha, I'm impatient! I've been wanting to start a collection of Mac software for a while, and I picked up a few today, but this one's MIA. :p

As for eBay, they don't even have OS 9 right now, inventory's dried up :( (also partly because I bought off the few available goodies :D).

I've got it in a box. A guy was throwing it away, but I salvaged it before it hit the trash. If I had more than one copy I'd totally send you one.

Thanks for the thought, appreciated. Nice work too.

Athough if you (or anyone) happens to have any extra System 7.6, OS 10/10.1 (cd) boxes lying around, please do let me know. ;)

That is not the way of the true collector. ;)
Where is the fun in completing your collection in one day through eBay? Far too much instant gratification. :p

Patience is very much a virtue when it comes to collecting stuff™.
Just bide your time and you'll find it… one day.

Also, don't just buy the first thing you see. Quality is more important than being a completist with a mediocre collection.

Good luck. :)

I never said I wasn't a n00b. ;)

This is very true. But as a student, these summer jobs provide me with income to blow on stuff like this, so it's easy. :p

Nice use of trademark! Only other time I've seen that one here is with the iPad Elitist™ Club.

You're right, I need to learn the way of the craft. Though to be fair, I'm probably not going to stop at software, in which case I'll really need to start being more patient.

Yep, I've been holding off some OS 9 and OS 10.1 offerings because they look crummy, so your advice has most certainly been taken!

Good luck. :)
Thank you. :)
