System choppiness when battery < 5%

Has anyone else experienced system choppiness when the battery gets below 5% on the late 2013 13" rMBP? Scrolling seems to stutter a lot more in my web browser. I also notice that SystemUIServer starts taking a lot more CPU % than it normally does. Is this normal? The moment I connect the power adapter to the laptop it returns to normal.

It's probably throttling heavily in order to last as long as possible so you can save your work and whatnot.

It happened to me last night!
I was playing trine and as soon as my computer went to 5% the game became unplayable, connected it to the power a voila everything was smooth again!

Maybe some kind of throttling going on to save battery!

At 5% it's advisable that you either start recharging or stop any task at hand. As to why the performance becomes choppy at that point, it's both academic and redundant.
