anyone have system data take up a huge chuck of storage? Mine is at close to 100 GB. did a transfer not restore from backup

My system data is 6.8 GB and “Other” is 5.1 GB.
iOS 14.8.

System data is the OS.
“Other” is caches, logs and resources

Similar problem. iPhone 12/64GB ios15. System data 21.91 GB !!! More I delete the apps, more system data grows

I’m at 35 GB after a restart. It was at 70 GB before. But now my Photos storage shot up to 23 GB. I really don’t feel like restoring my phone so hopefully this is just a(nother) bug.

I had a similar issue. The iphone storage numbers were a bit wonky for the past few releases, but seemed to correct in 15.1 beta 2. on installing beta 2, it showed i had over 20gb of “system data.” Deleting the music app off the phone, restarting and then re downloading the app from the App Store fixed the problem. System data is now hovering around 6gb. I suppose this is easy if you have Apple Music and don’t need to worry about locally stored music.

Same here. The system data kept expanding driving me crazy… alrdy cleaned up safari and deleted many apps. It was 11gb two days ago and now it’s 22gb. Dunno what to do…
