Hello

Is there any advantage to using a large HD as your system drive when you store most data on non-system drives? I'm currently using 80GB of my 160GB drive for my system. Would upgrading this drive to a larger capacity show any performance improvement?

I understand why you should never max out a HD, and I've been told you start to see noticeable speed drops when capacity gets above 75% or so. Since OS and apps on a system drive only take between 50GB-100GB, is there any reason to use a large capacity drive as your system drive? Seems like a waste of time and money to get anything larger than a 250GB system drive.

Also, is cache important for a system drive? For example is it worth getting a drive with 64MB cache vs 16/32MB? If so, the smallest drive with 64MB cache I've found is 500GB, which again seems like a lot of wasted space, but perhaps this isn't a problem?

Thanks for your advice and reply!
