I would like to change some system images by replacing the files via ssh. Instead of making my own I would just like to modify the already existing file and replace it.

However when I grab a file, for example [BatteryBG_1@2x.png] out of System/library/coreservices/springboard.app the png is blank. The file is there, but no image shows up in Preview or Photoshop

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance

They've always been like that. They're coded in some way so that they can't be viewed, although there's some software you can download that will allow you to view them on a pc or mac. Not sure what it's called. maybe some else can chime in or you can Google it.

Edit: google "fixpngWindows" for windows and try this for mac.
