Hello everyone, I just recently got a power Mac G3 and one of the first things I installed is macOS 9.2.2. Now that operating system is a nice one, but I wanted to mess around with using powerPC macOS 8.1. Now, 9.2.2 will happily allow me to choose which system folder inside of a partition. I wish to use every single time. But I want to know is how do I do the same under macOS eight

Doesn't Mac OS 8.1 have a Startup Disk control panel? Or you mean the Mac OS 8.1 version doesn't support multiple System folders per disk? In that case, you could try the 9.2.2 control panel in Mac OS 8.1. If it's missing some dependencies then maybe you can try System Picker? Though maybe that's for older Mac OS's? I haven't tried any of the above recently.

8.1’s startup disk control panel can’t choose individual system folders and OS9 startup disk panel is missing dependencies. system picker seems to do the job.
