System Preference Item Icons keep disappearing

not really a big problem but... i'm curious as to what could be causing this.

i'm running 10.4.11 and even... reinstalled and all that happened is the screwed up icon switched. how would i repair this.

Close system preferences and delete the following files from ~/Library/Cache

com.apple.preferencepanes.cache
com.apple.preferencepanes.searchindexcache

Should fix it.

And if that doesn't work you could remove this:

com.apple.systempreferences.plist

Just an FYI: We do have a guide that addresses this issue.

This question used to pop up all the time here, but I haven't seen it in a while...interesting to see that it still pops up in 10.4.11.
