PLEASE help me!

I opened my system preferences today, and nothing is there except the 3rd party apps (other).

I looked in my library, and all the files are still there- I just can't view the apps in the system preferences!

I am running OS X 10.6.4

PLEASE HELP!

You tried it before it was suggested above, or after? If before, then what else have you tried that you're keeping a secret??

I tired that- It didn't work :(

Try moving ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist (where ~ denotes your Home folder) to your Desktop. Logout and login. Try System Preferences again.

I tired this too- didn't work...

SO i ended up going into the Apple Store- They put my computer in safe mode and cleared out my settings- and everything worked!

apparently there was a corrupt pref.

I love Apple... things like this make me feel all warm inside. Knowing that you can just go there and they'll fix your computer is why I support Apple to begin with.
