im running 10.7.5,as of lately every time I open system preferences theres this 15 second delay before it actually opens. I checked my console log and this message will always show-

[0x0-0x4a04a].com.apple.systempreferences: System Preferences(416,0x110ada000) malloc: *** auto malloc[416]: error: GC operation on unregistered thread. Thread registered implicitly. Break on auto_zone_thread_registration_error() to debug.

if anyone could help, would be appreciated!

Do you have any third-party System Preference panes?

Create a brand new user account, and open System Prefs there. Is there the same problem? If not, then the cause is in your old user account, most likely a corrupt preference file for one of the panes.

If it still stalls, then it's a system-level problem.
