Hello, any time I click on the time and go to open date/time, the finder freezes. This was happening before with my old install as well as my current (HD died and Apple replaced it). Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Yep used to happen on my iMac it was strange it was caused by my router/ADSL gateway. Has something to do when it polls one of the time servers listed in the time date/time preferences.

Anyway I fixed it by manually assigning IP and DNS settings rather than getting it with DHCP, it seemed to work (Dlink Router). Seemed totally irrelevant but it worked. Now using Airport Extreme to assign DHCP and no more issues.

Hope that helps solve your issue.

Happens on my Mac Pro too, it doesn't totally free System Preferences, after a few minutes of beachballing it will work fine.
