I use You Control, and I have the System Preferences module on the menu bar. Whenever I access it, the System Preferences window places itself behind whatever window I am currently using, so I have to click on the Dock icon or use Expose to find it. This also happens when I open the Preferences for Dock Extender.

What causes this to happen?

Oops, solved my own issue. A reboot seems to have fixed it.

And..of course its not that hard to use the Apple menu. The reason peoplelike shortcuts to System Preferences is to get to one pref pane in particular, quickly. Is that so difficult to understand? :)

I used to use Dockprefs, it was a dockling for just that purpose. I don't use it anymore because I'd rather keep the Dock smaller and add one click to accessing the given prefpane I'm looking for.
