Ok this might be a stupid question, I am unsure if I my DVD drive on my iMac cause do dual layers.

  Media:	To show the available burn speeds, insert a disc and choose View > Refresh

I am think the DL is telling me it is but I thought I would ask before buy the DVD

Yes it can. Do you see how it says -R DL and +R DL. That means it can burn dual layer discs.
