System Profiler "history" in logs?

Not sure where to post this.....

I have a 15" MBP that died recently (we're thinking video part of, or entirely the Logic Board), and there is a discrepancy of exact model of logic board with the person that's fixing it for me. I have with me a sparse image of the boot drive for backup, and am wondering if there's any way to sniff through log files or any other records in the system that'll give me a history of the exact type of machine that previously booted the drive?
