When I try to load the Apple System Profiler, it unexpectedly quits while loading the app.

I am running 10.2.4 on my iMac 1Ghz.

This is kind of disturbing and I hope that someone can help out.

Thanx

have you done the Permissions Repair and fsck -y? this same thing happened to me, this is what fixed it for me--

Hmm, no System Profiler problems here on my 1 GHz iMac with 10.2.4. One thing I noticed, however, is that it says that the Machine model is a "PowerMac6,1 (version = 3.3)". Is this right? Why would it say PowerMac in the model name? All the other hardware info seems to be accurate.

I ran fsck -y multple times (20 or so) and the same output happened every time.

Still, my Apple System Profiler will not launch.

Any other helpful hints?

i had that problem for a while even pre-.2.4.

what i do is just as i start it i DO NOT close the about this mac window and i click on the 'Devices and Volumes' tab. that way it seem to not crash.

good luck. let me know if this works
