I'm running a base M1 Macbook Air, running Sonoma, and I occasionally can't access Focus settings in the System Settings menu unless I restart. I don't think this is the root cause of the issue--I think something is erroring out with Focus settings in general, but this is a symptom I can reproduce.

The long version of this story is that I was trying to use the OpenIn app, but it was freezing sometimes when I set it as my default browser. After some back and forth emails with the dev, I sent him a crash log and he determined that the cause was due to AppIntent not being able to provide information about the current Focus mode.

So I checked my Focus settings--or at least, I tried to, but the System Settings app wouldn't switch over to Focus settings. I also find that running a "Get Focus mode" Shortcut hangs during this state as well.

Restarting gets everything working for about ten minutes, before freezing up again. None of this was happening pre-Sonoma (and I am also having this Notification Center freezing issue as well, but I don't know how I could tell if they're related).

Anybody have anything similar or know of any ways to correct this? It's very hard to find if anyone has the same issue.

I'm having the same issue. Attempting to change focus mode in the menu bar doesn't work either, and occasionally results in a spinning beach ball.
