Sigh, playing with external drives, on reboot, display background now black.
System Settings menu ONLY showing General, and Spotlight entries, no sub menus in these items, either.
ALL other menu items GONE.

How to recover/reset?
Sadly, no back up...

So, RIGHT-CLICK in the desktop area to bring up Wall Paper, only brings up the empty System Settings menu.
Sigh...

Since I have no menu items under settings,
I generated a new admin user via terminal command,
sudo sysadminctl -addUser "NewUserNameGoesHere" -admin
The new user has all the System Settings menu items.

This tells me that the user with no System Menu settings menus profile is corrupt.
Yes?
Can I simply copy a .plist file from the new user profile to the old user profile, and change the file permissions, etc?

I notice on the old corrupt profile user, Better Display app still works, but I cannot verify the settings are correct, or were reset to default values...

Wow, double click on a .pkg file, or, .dmg, cannot find the installer.
Sigh...

I will have to test on a totally new app that isn't on the system.
I am sooo disappointed...

Looks like the bad design decision resulting in the hardware limitation of ONLY two bus powered external nvme/ssd just bit me hard.
Somehow, corrupted my system in the process during disconnecting/reconnecting when I had 3 non bus powered nvme/ssd connected.

There should be a warning with all of these systems concerning the inferior power delivery to the ports.

I wont buy another apple product until this is corrected.

I am sooo bummed, I definitely will not be going back to any windowz based solution, I was hoping this would be the platform I was looking for...
