The installer is double the size of previous macOS installers and I've noticed the amount of storage on my device has reduced by around 6GB.

I remember Snow Leopard reduced the size of the system considerably mainly due to the removal of Power PC code when it became Intel only. Do people think the addition of Apple silicon code is responsible for the massive increase in system size?
